About Me

Hello! My name is Sami Hakani, and I am a PhD candidate studying theoretical condensed matter physics with Professor Itamar Kimchi at the Georgia Institute of Technology. My main research interests are in spin dynamics of strongly correlated electronic systems. I am also interested in topological and entangled phases of matter in model systems such as quantum magnets, ultracold atoms and molecules, and topological semimetals.

Previously, I received my Bachelor of Science from Yale University with a double major in physics and electrical engineering. While there, I worked in experimental AMO physics studying ultracold 39K gases with Professor Nir Navon.
